"Gaia and the Spirits of Nature"

The RETTORI TRIBBIO art gallery presented an international trio exhibition curated by gallerist and art manager FABIO ZORZET from 22 June to 5 July 2024. The exhibition «GAIA AND THE SPIRITS OF NATURE» is dedicated to the exploration of human's place in the space of the living world that surrounds us. Through a collection of vibrant and expressive paintings, the artists invite viewers to think about their relationship with the environment and to look at nature as an inexhaustible source of happiness.

The paintings presented at the exhibition convey the complex beauty of animals, plants and landscapes, emphasizing the interconnectedness of all life on Earth – Gaia. Each of the three artists - OKSANA KOLOSYUK FROM ITALY, IRINA METZ FROM ARMENIA AND MOMALYU/LIUBOV' KRIUCHKOVA FROM SLOVENIA - uses her own painting technique and color palette, depending on the individual research into the profound understanding of our planet, proclaiming its excellence and expressing the commitment to preserve it for future generations.

Gabriella Dipietro, art historian, led a guided tour of the exhibition «GAIA AND THE SPIRITS OF NATURE» on Saturday 29 June at 6pm. She writes about the exhibition as follows:

“Sometimes, going to see an art exhibition is like entering a theater: you barely have time to get used to the change in lighting before the curtain opens and the show comes to life. Unexpectedly we are surrounded by a flow of emotions, delicate or more heated, where the paintings, actors on the scene, come to life and reality seems to compose and dismantle in front of us.

In this exhibition, Oksana Kolosyuk, Irina Metz and Momalyu / Liubov Kriuchkova, three friends who graduated from Julia Sysalova's Art Communication School, with skilful brushstrokes saturated with colour, manage to involve the unaware spectator by making him perceive the rustle of the wind, the scent of flowers and uncultivated herbs, or the acidic flavor of splendid fruit not yet corrupted by time. With an infinite variety of colours, ranging from acid greens to browns, from warm and enveloping reds to intense blues, their painting satisfies all the senses which get lost in contemplation of a pulsating and alive Nature, always good and forgiving.

The works on display, which range from impressionism to hyperrealism, are dedicated with profound love to our Earth, to the Mother who generates us, welcomes us, protects us... and who must inevitably be protected and preserved. And it is no coincidence that three women want to testify with their Art the interest in Gaia, because the feminine is precisely the privileged vehicle for the encounter with the spirits of Nature, inspirations of sacredness and ancient wisdom.

An artistic and human union that tells how these painters manage, each with her personal inclination and uniqueness, to create works rich in emotional intensity, where space and time seem to lose relevance, to express with creative spontaneity a passionate message that sees Nature, “collective soul” and Art, merge with surprising alchemy.
